Research help in library
The purpose of Research and Reference Services at the U
of T Scarborough Library is to guide scholars (both students and
faculty) to appropriate discipline-specific knowledge made accessible
through the University of Toronto Libraries and beyond.
We accomplish this goal by:
- facilitating the search for discipline-specific research resources, including print resources, online resources, audiovisual materials, multimedia resources and items in other formats. We can be contacted live at the Reference Desk, by phone (416-287-7481), by email and through the UTL chat service (through the "Chat" icon)
- instructing individual learners in effective discipline-specific research strategies by conducting one-on-one research consultations
- developing subject guides and online tutorials
- consulting with faculty on the incorporation of student research strategies into course design
- connecting students with appropriate resources to improve their writing and research skills, including workshops and other services provided by the Academic Resources staff.
We work closely with the staff of Research Skills Instruction, the Writing Centre, the Math and Statistics Help Centre and Information and Instructional Technology Services to provide collaborative services and resources that will benefit University of Toronto Scarborough students.
