UTSC Library Pickup Service

As the library partially reopens for the 2020 fall semester, a pickup service for print books not available through the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service (ETAS) is available. Students, faculty and staff are eligible to use this service. Initially, the service will only provide access to books housed in the UTSC Library stacks and not collections located in The BRIDGE Library.

Students, faculty, and staff may place online orders at any time. Pickups are available during library hours

Eligible materials

Only books from the general stacks that are not already available via the ETAS are eligible. This includes most academic books, popular books, DVDs, and the cookbook collection. Course reserves (STL), micro text, government publications, reference materials, and tech lending are not available for pickup.

We apologize that inter-campus and inter-library loans are also not possible at this time.

Making a request

  • Find your book(s) in the library catalogue

  • Click the Get Help button in the search results or the catalogue record.

  • The system will check whether your book is available via the HathiTrust ETAS.

    • Available: You will be provided with a link to the book at the ETAS. (Note: you will then need to log in to HathiTrust to access the full text.)

    • Not available: Continue following the prompts to place your pickup request.

  • You will receive an automated message when your request has been received. Staff will check the shelves for your requested book(s) and contact you about any that are not available.

  • Please wait to receive a final confirmation e-mail. Pickups will be available during library operating hours

Picking up your books
