Interact with the NEW UTSC Zine Collection

The University of Toronto Scarborough Library is launching a new collection!

The UTSC Zine Collection will be launching on October 22 and the Library is excited to provide more zine resources to the UTSC community!

What are Zines?

Zines are independently created magazines and publications that support teaching, learning, creativity, and exploration. The beauty of zines is that it allows those= who may not normally have a channel to publish or share their story to create something that they can distribute and share with others. Zines also inspire people to get creative and come up with their own versions of these publications. We hope that through this collection, the UTSC community will be inspired to create their own zines and tell their own stories!

To celebrate the new collection, the Library is hosting two Zine Library Launch Events: A Panel of zinesters where you can learn more about the benefits and impact of zines, and Workshop where you can learn the basics of zine making and possibly enter your creation into our week long zine-a-thon competition! Submit a zine within a one-week period for a chance to win some prizes. We hope to see you there! Both events are taking place on October 22 – register here for both

To find zines in LibrarySearch, search for “utsc zine collection” or visit the UTSC Zine Guide for more zine resources, as well as how to donate to the collection and how to teach with zines.
