Introduction to Zotero

Learn how to gather, organize, and cite your sources using Zotero, a free, open-source reference management tool. No prior Zotero knowledge is required. Please note that this is a workshop intended for beginner Zotero users – if you have advanced Zotero questions, please consult Zotero's extensive documentation

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Collect references
  • Organize references using tags, folders, and other features
  • Create annotations and notes in your readings
  • Generate citations and bibliographies

Prior to the workshop, please download and install the Zotero application on your personal device from zotero.org (see here for instructions on setting-up Zotero).

Time: 10:30am - 12:00pm

Location: 3rd floor, OISE Library

Technology Requirements: If possible, please bring your own laptop to this session. There will be hands-on activity periods throughout the session for participants to practice using Zotero on their own devices.
