Searching for Patents for Practicing Engineers (in-person)

This workshop will include: 

  • An introductory background to patents, patent anatomy, and patent databases  

  • An introduction to the Corporative Patent Classification (CPC) and demonstration of a patent classification search using Espacenet 

  • Participants are welcome to stay for an addition half hour after the workshop to pratice searching the CPC in Escapenet using practice examples provided 

This workshop may be especially useful for PEY students or those seeking to enter the workforce or start entrepreneurship ventures.
