Does your high school class have an upcoming research assignment? Would you like to experience research in a university library? If yes, consider bringing your class to visit the University of Toronto Scarborough Library.
Details of a typical visit to the U of T Scarborough Library
A visit to the library generally takes about 2 hours for a guided workshop to help students improve their research skills and find sources for their research assignments.
Guest logins available for the day of the visit; library borrowing privileges are not available
You can stay on campus for lunch as well. Students can bring their own lunches or purchase food on campus.
Requirements for visiting teachers
- Complete the registration form below at least 6 weeks prior to the date of the planned visit, although we strongly encourage you to contact us as early as possible.
- Provide a copy of (or details about) the research assignment the class will be working on.
- High school teachers must be present for the entire visits to supervise student activities and noise levels.
Requirements for visiting students
- Students will only be able to access library resources while they’re on campus. Therefore, they should arrive prepared to save PDFs of articles and other sources relevant to their assignments (e.g. Save PDFs in Google Drive.
- Students must abide by the U of T Scarborough Library’s food, drink, and noise policies
- Students are eligible for a High School Borrower Card
