Explore the story of UTSC! The Memories of UTSC project invites you to explore the University of Toronto Scarborough's past. The BRIDGE Tours in the Instructional Centre – 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. | Instructional Centre
The BRIDGE is a joint venture between UTSC’s Department of Management and the UTSC Library. It is where business, research and innovation converge, delivering extraordinary student experiences through entrepreneurship, research, advanced training programs, and work-integrated learning. Our state-of-the-art facility includes a business research library, data lab, and collaboration lounge. We are a U of T accelerator focused on student formation, and a pathway for industry and community partnerships. The BRIDGE connects the best academic theory with creative applications and aspiring minds.
Relaxation zone: colouring, button making, board games, reading zone – 12-5 p.m. | Decompression Zone in the S-Wing/H-Wing Terrace
Need a breather during all the Homecoming excitement? Visit the relaxation zone where you can enjoy the colouring book station, play a quick board game or relax with a book. BONUS: While supplies last, you can also pick up some library swag or make a custom button with the UTSC Library button maker. This is a drop-in event.
Library Gems: Exhibits, 3D Printers & More! – 12-6 p.m. | UTSC Library Entrance, ARC Main Floor & Meeting Place, Science Wing
Visit our information desk, explore, and interact with our unique historical and digital collections showcasing our partnerships over the years, pick up some unique library swag, and check out our 3D printer. The Library Vitrines will showcase various UTSC archival material and memorabilia collected over the years.
In the meeting place we will be showcasing the Memories of UTSC project, inviting participants to explore the University of Toronto Scarborough's past. Additional collections, including UTSC Library's COVID Creative Digital Collection, a public collection of creative works by students, faculty, and staff developed in collaboration with Suzanne Sicchia's "Foundations in Health Studies" will also be featured.
Scarborough Pre-Screening Talk with author and screenwriter, Catherine Hernandez – 6:30-8 p.m. | Aramark Entertainment Zone in the ARC Quad
Join us for a Scarborough film pre-screening talk with author and screenwriter, Catherine Hernandez, and professors / filmmakers Marlene Goldman and Alice Maurice. Learn about what inspired the book and the film, and ask your questions to our panel of experts!
Stay for the outdoor screening of Scarborough from 8 to 10:15pm.
Scarborough Film Screening – 8-10:20 p.m. | Aramark Entertainment Zone in the ARC Quad
Adapted from the critically acclaimed novel by Catherine Hernandez, Scarborough is an unflinching portrait of three low-income families struggling to endure within a system that’s set them up for failure. It shows the love and perseverance communities can foster, lifting up families to overcome the obstacles placed in their way.
