Meet our Librarians
Dear Scarby, Where can I donate old textbooks? - Generous Soul
Dear Generous,
What a nice idea! The UTSC Library partners with a not-for-profit organization called Textbooks for Change by hosting a dropbox in the library. You can find this dropbox on the right-hand side of the Reading Room, which is directly behind the main Info Desk when you enter the library. Thanks for thinking of others!
Yours truly,
Scarby H. Hedgehog
Introducing the faces behind this year’s U of T Scarborough Library Sophia Hilton Storytelling Fellowship: Thara, Sanah, and Akshayaa. These remarkable individuals are the heart of the UTSC Library Storytelling Fellowship 2023-24.
From July 25-28 2023, UTSC Library was a proud host and sponsor (with Carnegie Mellon University Libraries and the University of Prince Edward Island’s Robertson Library) of IslandoraCon 2023.
The UTSC Library is pleased to offer access to BLK: An Origin Story, a four-part documentary that explore the stories of Black Canadians from the 1600s to the present.
BLK: An Origin Story is a series that looks at Canadian Black history from across the country. The documentary criss-crosses the country, going from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, as it shows the audience the important contributions Black Canadians have made on the country.
Dear Scarby, How do I search for a book? - Searching Student
Dear Searching,
Most searches start by using the everything search, which is that search bar on the UTSC Library homepage. If you know the title of the book, type in the title in quotes: "Alice in Wonderland"
If you're looking for a book on a subject, type in your subject. It might be modern dance or violence in 1990s movies.
If you get stuck, come to the Info Desk in the library and we'll be happy to help!
Yours Truly,
Scarby H. Hedgehog
