Dear Scarby, I am a first year student here at UTSC and am struggling to find a good spot to study on campus. Can you give me some advice on where the best place to study in the library is? - Searching for the Sweetest Spot, 1st year
Dear Searching, You've asked the right hedgehog! I personally like to burrow in the silent study room on the upper floor. I feel like it is the easiest place to hide out and it's nice and quiet. On a day when I don't mind some noise, and am not looking for absolute silence, I snuggle into couches in the reading room at the entrance of the library. It's also right near the course reserves and I can run in to snatch up a charging cable. One other super comfortable place is the new 'nook' area past the stairs. Again it has those comfy chairs where I can hang out, but what sets it apart are the stationary reading bicycles. Like, who even invented those? You can quietly work your muscles and your brain at the same time. If I'm with my study buddies, I book a group study room. It really depends on how you like to study.
Yours truly,
Scarby H. Hedgehog
